Black Friday Shopping in Sacramento, Folsom & Rancho Cordova

Black Friday is the day of SHOPPING. This is the day most of us wait for buying gifts for lowest price of the year. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving day. Usually Black Friday falls in between 23rd November to 29th November of th year. To hold big group of shoppers rushing into the store, the retailers have started opening their stores early in the morning between 3:00 - 5:00 am.

TIPS and PLANNING for Black Friday:

Before you gear up for the Black Friday Shopping there are some tips, I would like to share with you which will be very helpful in planning your shopping:

-Explore: Explore all possible deals online before Thanksgiving day or day before.
-Strategy: Make a strategy list all the items you need to buy, what time stores open and which store you need to visit first.
-Timing: According the deals and number of items, arrange the stores in your list as timing matters.
- Quantity: Be aware of the quantity of the items you are looking for in the store. If a store has only 10 items at that price, then go to another store.
- Map: As you enter the store, know where your item could be.
- Number of people: Go with a buddy, dont go alone. This will help you to get more things and other person can stand in cashier line.
- Food or Restroom : Take some snacks with you. Dont waste your time by stopping at food store. Also go to bathroom before your leave for shopping.
-Non-advertising store: Also shop with the stores who have not advertise. They will have good deals too.
- Enjoy the day at your best and treat urself like a KING!

Malls

I was so used to go to Malls in NJ and NY and finding it difficult to find here in Sacramento area. I wanted to hang out, do some shopping, be in crowd and have feeling of relaxation which all together I can do get by going to some Mall. Finally, I thought its enough...That cant be so bad. I got three malls in nearby areas viz., Sunrise Mall, Florin Mall and Arden Fair Mall.
Sunrise Mall is located in Citrus Heights (6041 Sunrise Mall, Citrus Heights, CA‎). It is mall were you will get most of things. But I was looking for stores I used too in NY. So I was not so happy with it.
Next I tried Florin Mall which is located in Sacramento, CA (6117 Florin Rd, Sacramento, CA‎). It is open mall having Sears outlet and other stores too. New Walmart Super Center is open here, were you can get everything and anything you need. Unfortunately, I went one week before its opening so it was closed. They have acquired big area and surely will plan to visit in future.
Now Arden Fair mall was my hope (1689 Arden Way # 1167, Sacramento). I went before Father's day and guess what? I got what I was looking for. Forever 21, Nordstorm, New York Co, Mac, Auntie Anne's Pretzel, Bath & Body works ...you name and it is there. It is very big mall and I simply love it.

For those who dont have car, you can go there using Sacrt.com services. Bus service run to malls are:
28 - Sunrise Mall
67, 68 - Florin Mall and Arden Fair Mall.

Visit www.sacrt.com to plan your visit. Enjoy shopping and hanging out!

Grocery shopping

Here for shopping you dont get Shoprite or Stop & Shop. There are other stores like Safeway, Raleys, Safemart etc. For buying vegetables and fruits, Koreana Market on Cordova Center is very cheap, but be careful for picking as sometimes u get bad quality.
Walmart, Sears Outlet, Kmart is right on Folsom blvd. You can hop on the train and you are right across destination in couple of minutes.
For Indian grocery store, Asian Market and India Bazar is there on Cordova Center. You will get most of the stuff here or you can request and they will get it for you in next order. Fruits and vegetables are cheap as compare to NJ. Better way to eat healthy and keep yourself fit and fine.
Udupi Restataruant located on Sunrise blvd is pure veg and sat n sun they have buffet also.
Life is relaxing here as come to NY/NJ. You will much more relax and peaceful.

Finding an Apartment

Finding Apartment:
There are all different kind of aspects, anybody will consider for apartment search, like;
1. Nice Neighborhood
2. Safety
3. Clean and tidy apartments
4. Good Maintenance staff
5. Near Public Transportation
6. Reasonable price

All this aspects are very necessary. We did some homework for these. We did checked out www.rent.com; www.forrent.com etc. Also side by side, for getting a overview of how things are going in specific apartment complex, www.apartmentratings.com was very helpful site.
After doing ground work, we had sorted out the apartments we were interested in.
Next day, we took appointment and started checking out different apartments. It was very tedious process, but we got lucky to get good one. Winner was 'Windsor Ridge Apartment'. Community is nice, safe and near to train station. Apartments are also nice and clear with good maintenance staff. Also we preferred to stay in month-to-month lease, which also worked out for us.

Reached our Destination...Sacramento,CA

8 hr of flight is really exhaustive. Thank God , our flight was on time and United Airlines were great for its service, cleanliness and courteous staff. We landed in Sacramento, CA.
Nobody was there to pick up. So we booked 'Supper Shuttle'. The driver was nice and for all 6 bags, they charged us pretty reasonable. If you want to save some bucks , you can definately get great deal with this kind of service. I bet private taxi would cost me double of what I paid to shuttle driver.

We were already having reservation with "Extended Stay America" at Point East Rd, Rancho Cordova. Tammy at front desk was very helpful and she also changed our room on request. Rooms were clean and tidy. We stayed for couple of days and I felt safe and secure at this place.
Bed sheets and utensils were also clean. So kind of, I can surely recommend this motel to anybody who is moving to Sacramento.

Moving from NJ

My husband got job in Northern CA. So we moved from NJ to CA. We were little bit skeptical about moving to CA because of its high cost, but then we decided to move. Everything was packed and bags were ready to go in USPS, FEDEX..[You can check out my ehow article on 'How to pack for moving'/ I have given some every cost effective and economical solutions there.]
It was not easy to pack all the stuff but due to proper planning we were able to accomplish it. Things were sorted out according to its usage and others were given in charity.
We called AAA taxi , which gave us good deal for taxi van for JFK airport. Taxi driver dropped us right on time to JFK airport. In spite of over weight, our bags were checked in and attendant, didnt ask for extra bucks for the weight. We were lucky on that side.
So it was BYE to NJ/NY.
